Who We Are
LANZA Judicial de Mexico
believes in promoting the rule of law by empowering and inspiring high-school students to be competent, civic-minded advocates in pursuit of justice.
Our mission philosophy is simple. We seek to promote the rule of law by inspiring our youth, igniting their passion and potential to advocate for justice.
Our Values
Equity * Diversity * Integrity * Partnership * Quality
Liga de Enseñanza Judicial de Mexico, A.C. (LANZA Judicial), is the brainchild of an attorney and a high-school teacher who wanted to empower and inspire high-school students to become competent, civic-minded advocates. Our founders partnered their skills and their hard-won experience to create educational programs that created opportunities for high-school students to think critically, work collaboratively and speak with impact in support of justice. It is our founders' values that serve as the the foundational principles of our organization that we are today:
- Equity - We believe that education is a fundamental human right for all, not just for a privileged few.
- Diversity - We respect and value people of all backgrounds. Together, we create a healthier and more productive world.
- Integrity - We value the trust of the individuals and communities we serve and earn that trust through a culture of ethical conduct and transparency.
- Partnership - We strive to be an engaged and supportive collaborator in the success of those we server, leveraging our resources and reach to help them achieve their own goals and amplify the strength of their communities.
- Quality - We take ownership for the effectiveness of our services but also take pride in what we deliver as a team; our focus is on a successful outcome for all.
LANZA Judicial operates as a non-profit civil association in accordance with applicable Mexican law. Our team includes teachers and educators, lawyers and law students, community organizers and university administrators. Together, we provide technical assistance and training to teachers, coordinate civic participation projects in schools and communities, organize student conferences and competitions, and develop publications in the following areas:
- Law and Government programs and materials focusing on how groups and individuals interact with the issues, institutions, people and processes that shape our laws and government.
- Civic Participation programs and materials bringing to life the rights and responsibilities of active citizenship by challenging young people to explore their community and plan and implement projects that address community needs.
