What is Mock Trial?
Whether students are delving into the details of a crime scene in search of critical evidence, matching wits in a courtroom with clever and capable opponents or delivering profoundly persuasive arguments to preserve life and liberty– Mock Trial will engage them to become capable, civically-minded advocates.
The LANZA Judicial Mock Trial Program is an exciting and progressive academic activity where students take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses in simulated criminal trials. This program fosters academic competition and serves as an opportunity for students to learn about the rule of law while developing their abilities to think critically, work collaboratively and speak with impact.
Who can participate?
Any Mexican preparatoria is welcome to participate. Students must be enrolled in grades 9–12 at the time of participation in regional competitions. Member school’s mock trial program must have at least one teacher/organizational sponsor and, ideally, one attorney coach.
